Tutorial: Import PNG-sequences and MOV-files into Flash
As we mentioned before we have multiple-choice how to import our design-elements into Flash. But we still need to consider, that the choices depend on what we wa going to import.
PNG-Sequence into Flash
If you import a PNG-Sequence into Flash, you just have to click on the first image of the sequence. Flash detects automaticly (by filename) that there are more files of a sequence in this folder and asks you if you want to import them all. If you confirm, Flash drops the whole sequence into the timeline, in every frame an image, of the scene/movieclip you are actually in.So this is how its done:
Open the libary (F11)
Create a new movieclip in the libary
Doubleclick on the movieclip-item in the libary to make sure, you're in it
Now click File/Import/Import into timeline and select the first image of your sequence
Confirm and .. voila.
Mov-File into Flash
If you import a Quicktime-Movie into Flash, you have way more choices how to do it.When working with the alpha-channel of a Quicktime-Movie, you have to import it directly into the libary. As usual, drop it then into a container-movieclip for a better control.
Open the libary (F11)
Create a new movieclip in the libary
Doubleclick on the movieclip-item in the libary to make sure, you're in it
Now click File/Import/Import into libary and select the Quicktime-Movie
An import-dialog pops up, select the embeded import
Then you have to choose in which compression Flash imports the file
When having big files, above 200/300mb, its not wrong to try with the common 700/800 value. If you have small files you can import it with the full quality of 1400.
Click through the Import-Dialog
The file is in the libary now and ready to use in a movieclip or as whatever you want
